A place full of history!
Gruchet-la-Valasse is in the Seine Valley, Normandy, halfway between Le Havre and Rouen and is home to Valasse Abbey and its out of ordinary setting. It’s surrounded by many other exceptional places to visit. You could say that Valasse Abbey is the heart of tourists’ Normandy!
In its 900 years, Valasse Abbey has known Cistercian monks, the Hundred Years’ War, the French Revolution, life as a chateau, the textile and milk industries.
Today it embraces some of its founding qualities as a place of work and harmony, part of local life and making the most of its resources.
During the year, Valasse Abbey hosts:
